Features
1. Designed for Precision Cutting
The release liner of DM1700 is a 0.1 mm (0.004 in) polyester film with single-side silicon coating and reverse treated. Its unique design enables precise kiss-cutting on electronic cutting machines. The colored ElectroCut Film serves as a versatile alternative to silk-screened inks, adeptly delivering transparent, colored background elements for reflective street signs and various traffic signs. For optimal consistency in color presentation on signs, it is recommended to employ ElectroCut Film panels from the same production lot.
2. Superior Protective Performance
DM1700 is compatible with micro-prismatic high intensity sheeting. The product effectively prevents moisture intrusion, providing waterproof, moisture-proof, and anti-oxidation protection. Additionally, DM1700 film adheres smoothly and firmly to printed materials, safeguarding against physical damage with excellent scratch and abrasion resistance.
3. High Transparency and Easy Cleanability
The product utilizes transparent polyacrylate as its pressure-sensitive adhesive, enhancing the gloss of printed materials post-lamination and intensifying color vibrancy. Additionally, the film surface is effortlessly cleaned during routine maintenance.

How to distinguish DM1700 ElectroCut Film from DM50UV Cold Lamination Film?
Different Functions
DM1700 is available in transparent, yellow, red, green and blue, serving both protective and color-changing purposes. In contrast, DM50UV is only transparent, performing a protective function.
Different in Material, Weather Resistance and Price
DM1700 is made of PMMA with a uniquely designed release liner, enabling precise kiss-cutting on electronic cutting machines. It excels in waterproof and moisture-proof performance, with weather resistance exceeding 10 years. Featuring a higher cost, DM1700 is suitable for micro-prismatic high intensity sheeting. In contrast, DM50UV is constructed from modified PVC with a standard release liner, unsuitable for kiss-cutting but compatible with screen printing, UV inkjet, roll coating, and thermal transfer processes. Its weather resistance lasts 5 years, and the lower cost makes it ideal for bead-type advertising or engineering sheeting.

Fabrication - Cutting and Application Procedures
a.When cutting DM1700 ElectroCut Film, it is recommended that inside radius corner fonts be used to improve cutting accuracy and edge smoothness.
b.Adjust knife pressure to cut cleanly through the film without cutting into the release liner. A 30 degrees blade works best. Spacing between letters or numbers should be adjusted to the aesthetic preference of the user. Note: Do not cut at high speed on variable speed machines.
c. Avoid sharp bends when cutting and handling film as this may cause film to release from the liner.
d. After cutting, place the film flat with front sides facing each other and back sides facing each other. Always store the film in this manner until the excess parts are weeded and transfer tape is applied.
e. Use a stripping tool designed for weeding films that has a blunt (not a sharp) edge.
f. Transfer tape can be applied by hand using a plastic squeegee or with a Hand Squeegee Roll Laminator (HSRA). When applying by hand, always squeegee from the center outward in both directions. For application via HSRA, the lead edge must be cut at a right angle and fed into the nip carefully to prevent wrinkling of the film.
g. After the film have been applied, remove the transfer tape by carefully. After that, reroll the sign through the laminator to ensure a firm adhesion.
h.A clean cutting blade is required. To remove adhesive build-up, use a soft cloth dampened with mineral spirits, isopropyl alcohol or natural cleaner.
